It is about affirming one's own identity but also delving into heritage and generations.
Having a strong connection to a place you for various reasons have been kept at a distance from, yet at the same time are a part of, is highly emotional for many.
Many farms have complicated stories and history, of inclusion, exclusion, heritage, inheritance, loss and strained family relations.
The subject in the image with fictional double exposure is of the separate smallholding that my grandparents bought but never moved into. Now it is up to our, or the next generation to entangle all the threads.
